The company Deutsche Telekom Technik GmbH is a 100 percent subsidiary of Telekom Deutschland GmbH and provides the nationwide technical infrastructure of the group. The Tribe E2E Lab & Services is responsible for the design, development, integration and operation of Test Automation Framework (TAF) of DT Technik. You can become part of the TAF team/squad and be responsible for the infrastructure of Test Automation Framework, which consists of many end-devices (fixed and mobile phones, xDSL modems, home routers) and controlling servers.


What you will do

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a monitoring system (currently Icinga).

  • Understand TAF Monitoring concept
  • Design a new monitoring solution (selection of an appropriate tool)
  • Migration concept and execution from Icinga to "new" solution
  • Develop and maintain our Test Automation Framework
  • Conduct error analysis and troubleshooting sessions as well as performance analysis and optimization measures
  • Migrate services to cloud infrastructure
  • Support internal customers
  • Communicate with other teams and vendors

Required knowledge and skills

  • Experience with usage, maintenance, operation and integration of monitoring systems (e.g. Icinga, Zabbix, Check-MK, Prometheus, Telegraf, etc.)
  • Scripting languages (Python, Bash/Shell)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols (e.g. NRPE, REST, HTTP, SNMP)
  • Deep knowledge of Grafana, time-series database, alarming applications
  • Very good knowledge of Linux and networking is a must
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Be DevOps oriented
  • The ability to work on your own, with “out of the box” mind set
  • English is must, German is strong advantage.
  • International travel expectancy is 10%.

  • Proactive approach in data collection, data processing and data evaluation
  • Good understanding of needs from application owners, OPS and management KPI’s
